The Mediterranean stop for travelling horses
Between Andalusia, Catalonia and France, the AP-7 passes a few minutes from the club. Here your horse steps off the lorry, has a shower, stretches its legs in the arena and sleeps in a stable with straw or shavings bedding and automatic water. You park the lorry inside, freshen up and rest.

April 2021: two Olympic riders passing through
Leila Péan, of the French Olympic show jumping team, was travelling from Vejer de la Frontera to a competition in Gorla Minore (Italy). Tomás Couve Correa, a Chilean Olympian at London 2012, was making the same journey. Both stayed overnight with their horses at the club on Monday 12 April.

From 1 July to 30 August: swimming, kayaking, laser pistol shooting, fencing and riding at the club.

The towers route
A trail ride approved by the Valencian Community Equestrian Federation. Beach, greenway with sea views, tunnels, cliffs and four centuries of watchtowers. We ride it with our own horses and, with notice, the club can guide you.

The beach closest to the club. On the short ride, your first contact with the sea.
Oropesa Castle
Castle ruins above the old town, with views over the whole coast.
Torre del Rei
A 16th-century defensive tower facing La Concha beach, where on the long ride you can take the horses into the water under supervision.
Greenway and tunnels
The old railway line beside the cliffs: tunnels, railings and the sea below.
Torre de la Corda
A watchtower on the cliff. The path continues through La Corda, a historic area of towers.
Torre Colomera
The southernmost point of the route, among pines, right on the edge of Benicàssim.

A year at the club
The rides and parties that come round every season. Exact dates are announced in advance.
February
Ride to La Mina
A ride to an abandoned mine where riders have lunch. There is an optional trail to make it more fun.
March
Calçotada
The calçotada, the Catalan spring onion feast, at the riding club with friends and fellow riders. Please sign up so we can plan the shopping; the cost is shared among those attending.

El Cuartico ride
Along the beach to the Prat de Cabanes, lunch by the N-340 and a climb up the mountain to 227 metres, where a barbecue awaits.
April
Easter week
The club's beach bar opens for the season.
June
Sierra de Irta
Van transfer to Alcossebre, a ride through the Sierra de Irta, lunch at Ribamar campsite and back home.
July
Course for the little ones
An introductory course to the world of horses and the Galope levels. In July and August there is also a Pentathlon camp.
October
Sierra de Oropesa
About five and a half hours at a walk, with lunch on the ridge of the sierra. On clear days you can see the Columbretes Islands. Not recommended for beginners.

Frequently asked questions
Can I stop overnight with my horse if I'm travelling?
Yes. The club is a few minutes from exit 45 of the AP-7. There are stables with straw or wood shavings bedding, arenas where your horse can stretch its legs, parking for lorries and showers for drivers. It costs €10 per horse per day. Call or WhatsApp us before you arrive.
What does livery at €350 a month include?
An indoor stable with an automatic drinker, straw bedding with weekly cleaning, one or two feeds a day, forage twice a day, security, a locker, access to the tack room, paddocks and insurance for the horse in our care. Vet, farrier and medication are extra.
Do you hire out horses for a hack?
Rides can be booked online through Reservio on Saturdays and Sundays. To find out whether a horse is available, or whether the ride is with your own horse, ask Nuria on 616 483 858.
Do I need a federation licence?
To ride at the club, yes, for insurance reasons. We will help you apply for it through the Valencian Community Equestrian Federation.
Can I come on holiday with my horse?
Yes. Join our rides, even along the beach in winter, and we will arrange accommodation for your horse and for you. There is a package with the Casa Arizo hotel in Oropesa's old town.
Can we hold birthdays or lunches at the club?
Yes. There is a clubhouse with a bar and kitchen, a terrace, a barbecue and a beach bar. Lunches and dinners are booked online, and members can organise their own get-togethers with the committee.
